Tooth whitening

The process of dental whitening – SAVE UP TO 50-70%!

Besides the “natural” discoloration process, the teeth can easily undergo discoloration due to the multitude of dark colored materials entering the mouth cavity. Coffee, tea, Coke, red wine, the different soft drinks all contain such ingredients, which then, in turn, will very “efficiently” contribute to the staining process. Smoking also has a considerable role in this.

Staining has various degrees and forms.

Sometimes it is superficial, but in many cases the deeper strata of the tooth enamel are affected. The materials causing general discoloration would affect all the teeth, whereby all of them would be stained.

Root canal procedures, root fillings applied during dental treatments will also cause the treated tooth to discolor. Evidently, whitening procedures are also possible to apply to specific stained teeth.

The process of dental withening

whiteningThe dental bleach enters the enamel cracks to dissolve the pigments of the stains and debris which had accumulated there.
This material contains components, which will promote the restoration of the enamel in the place of the eliminated debris and stains. They also contain fluoride, which will improve the strength and resistance of the enamel.

It is important to state that whitening procedures will work only on teeth proper, but not on fillings, crowns, dentures! In such cases the fillings must be replaced according to the new color scale.
Prior to the whitening procedure a total treatment of mouth cavity hygiene must be carried out, during which all debris deposed on the surface of the teeth (plaque, calculus, or tartar) and less stubborn extrinsic stains will be removed. Any whitening treatment can be carried out only in a mouth cavity totally rehabilitated from oral hygiene point of view.

For preparing the whitening trays, we make a molded impression of the teeth, based on which the dental laboratory technician will prepare a soft plastic whitening tray perfectly fitting to the teeth.
Perfect application and extension of the trays is essential, since the whitening gel must only be in contact with the teeth, and none at all with the gums. The whitening gel will be placed into this flexible tray, to be applied onto the teeth afterwards.
It is advisable to do this during the night, it being important to keep on for at least 3-4 hours on end. The proper use of the trays and the proper dosage of the gel we always discuss in detail with the patient.

Whitening gels come in a variety of concentrations. The higher concentration versions take shorter time to react, but the post-treatment sensitivity is also higher. For this reason, we generally apply low-concentration gels, with longer time to react, but with less post-treatment sensitivity to cause.

With in-office whitening treatment we achieve the desired effect in 1-2 hours’ time, but this may also couple with the aforementioned sensitivity. Regular (10-15%) concentration bleaches normally do not cause this kind of sensitivity. This type of gel is suitable for home use, and the desired effect can be obtained in about 6 nights.

Whiteness thus achieved will persist approximately for 2-3 years.

Dental jewellery

A sparkling white smile adorns your entire face, but a twinkling tiny jewel in that smile will make it even more dazzling.

fogekszerThe jewel is usually placed on one of the front teeth, at the edge of the tooth, or on the side, depending on your choice.

The procedure itself is absolutely painless.
The jewel is fitted in place with adhesive without harming the enamel at all.

The jewel thus cemented into place will stay on about three months, but according to testimonies it can be worn for even longer.

It can be removed without any traces left, if needed.

Porcelain Veneers

porcelanhej Dental veneers are a cosmetic dentistry method applied in case of serious discoloration of the teeth, or if whitening treatment was not satisfactory.
If there is a larger filling in a front tooth, a teeth veneer is not recommended, a crown should be applied instead.

porcelanhej2 In the dental veneer preparation process the tooth is minimally reshaped to provide the best fit, then a mold impression will be made. Based on this impression a lab technician will prepare the porcelain veneer, which will then be bonded onto the front teeth.

Not only the discolored teeth can be corrected with the help of teeth veneers, but the method is also suitable to repair minor imperfections.

Ceramic has several advantages:

1) It can be colored both externally and internally, furthermore,

2) It has a natural opacity, due to which trait we are able to custom-color the veneers.

3) The color and surface of the veneer will not change in the course of the years to come, there will be no debris accumulating, due to the hard and tough material.

4) Since they do not contain metal, the method can be used with guests allergic to metals.
